Terms of Service

By using Clap, as a restaurant partner or a diner, you agree to these terms.

Clap provides a QR-based payment interface that lets restaurant guests view their bill, split it, tip, and pay, syncing with the restaurant's existing POS. Clap is a technology provider, not the merchant of record for any transaction — payments are processed by our trusted, licensed payment provider. The restaurant remains responsible for the goods and services provided to the guest.

You're responsible for the accuracy of menu, pricing, and table data configured in Clap, and for maintaining a valid account with our payment processor. You agree to use Clap in compliance with applicable Dutch and EU law.

Pilot terms are as set out in your individual pilot agreement or proposal. Unless otherwise agreed, either party may end the pilot at any time with no cost or penalty.

During the pilot, Clap charges no setup or monthly fee. Standard payment processing fees charged by our payment provider apply to each transaction. Fee changes, if any, will be communicated in advance.

No account is required to use Clap. By scanning a table code and completing payment, you agree to pay the amount shown. Refunds and disputes about food, service, or billing are handled directly with the restaurant — Clap facilitates payment but does not control restaurant policies.

Clap is provided "as is." To the extent permitted by law, Clap is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the platform. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under Dutch law.

Restaurant partners may stop using Clap at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for misuse, fraud, or breach of these terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Disputes fall under the jurisdiction of the competent Dutch courts.
